A parks masterplan update for the City of Beech Grove has been completed and approved by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources!

The Master Plan update meets DNR planning guidelines in order for the City to qualify for DNR administered grants such as the Land and Water Conservation Fund. The plan accomplishes:

  • an update to the Beech Grove Greenway Plan

  • a schematic design for a new Park Entrance at Sarah Bolton Park

  • meets the Indiana Department of Natural Resources requirements per the "Planning Guidelines for Five Year Parks and Recreation Master Plans" to ensure the City of Beech Grove is eligible for grants such as the Land and Water Conservation Fund administered through the Indiana Department of Natural Resources

As part of the process the Parks Master Plan effort focused on previously identified projects, including the evaluation of the current greenways plan and ideas for the park entrance at Sarah Bolton Park. All of the ideas were integrated into a plan that identifies synergies and strategies that complement other initiatives and developments within the City of Beech Grove.
