Evansville Downtown Riverfront

The Evansville Riverfront was designed to accommodate festivals such as "Thunder on the Ohio"  hydroplane races. The national race committee proclaimed the new Riverfront its best venue on its national circuit. The Dress Plaza was designed not only to make the riverfront accessible, but to accommodate race setup under varying river conditions. The Riverfront and adjacent Pigeon Creek Greenway can now accommodate the large crowds that can exceed 60,000 people for such events.
